Everyone in the world has heard at least once of Syracuse. This was the largest city in the ancient world, bigger even than Athens and Corinth. Its history began in 734 BC, when Corinthian colonists landed on the island of Ortygia (Ortigia). Today Ortigia is a melting pot of art and culture. The guided tour will let you discover this jewel of beauty and wonder that has passed the centuries. From the temple of Apollo, we will begin our enchanting walk in the heart of Ortigia. We will see the fabulous fountain of Diana, the majestic cathedral that was once a temple. Our tour stops near the fountain Orfeo and Aretusa where we will end the tour telling you the myth of these two lovers. After the visit, it is time to enjoy the town. In the afternoon visit of Noto the barocco town for excellence. Gorgeous palaces and beautiful churches will amaze you with their indescribable beauty.

Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe, invites you to discover its lunar landscapes and unique flora. This amazing experience starts from Piano Provenzana, by traveling with off-road vehicles along a high-mountain track, carved among suggestive expanses of lava and volcanic sand along the fracture that opened during the 2002 eruption. You will reach the maximum altitude possible by about 2900m (9500ft), where there is the vulcanological observatory of Pizzi Deneri. From here you will see both the “Leone” valley and the “Bove” valley, as well as the majesty of the Northeast and Southeast craters also called top craters.
After the visit you will enjoy Etna Wine in a typical winery of the area. In this area Man here interacts, often with difficulty, with a beautiful but equally complicated environment. Everything here is extreme, at the limit of vine cultivation. You will be surprised by the richness of the area. The tasting includes 4 different wines and lunch with typical local food.

Departure from the hotel in Catania at 9 a.m. This transfer will be the opportunity to discover another small jewel of Sicily: Cefalù.
Cefalù is a coastal town filled with charm and personality. The highlights are the beautiful coast surrounded by nice cafés where you can sit and have a typical Sicilian Aperitivo and visit the city center and the majestic Cathedral which are part of the UNESCO world heritage sites. This was completed in 1240 and has a fortress style with early Norman design. The story behind it shares that the King of Sicily at that time, Roger II, wanted it built after he managed to escape a storm and ended up on Cefalu’s beach nearby. Time to spend in Cefalù 3 hours. After Cefalù we will have about 2 hours to reach Castellamare where you will start your second part of your Sicily journey.
